Chapter 38 Maou’s Castle

T/N: I keep 魔王 (Maou) as maou instead of Demon King because there’s just sooooooo much maou words in this novel and I find keeping it as Maou works better than translating it into Demon King in some cases. (Like when the kids call him Maou-sama, should I translate it into Mr. Demon King?) I’m sorry if this makes you uncomfortable.

Umm… I don’t want to say it but I guess thanks to the rape incident, I’ve finally reached LV 100, huh…

With this, now we can refine the demon! The system sounds happy too!

I was taking a stroll inside Maou’s Castle that recently had been expanded with new functions.

“Maou-sama!! I was so worried about you!!”

Suddenly Copper came tackling me down from across the hallway.

T-this mongrel! My body  is small so of course I’d end up flying if you tackled me!

“Ah. I’m sorry for making you worry.” I said.

“I couldn’t find you for the last few days! I was so worried!!”

Ah.. I guess I was being reduced to a lifeless doll for about a few days, huh…

I pried the happy Copper away and continued to walk around the castle.

Apparently the castle expanded into three floors when I reached LV 100. 

I used my magic power to customize the castle.

Okay! I’ve moved the audience room into the third floor. 

Since I was the maou, of course my room had to be on the top floor!

As for the second floor.. To be honest I didn’t have any intention of doing any paperwork but I decided to place an office there anyway.

The maou’s castle is part of my body so I could customize it as I pleased using magical power.

It was really convenient.

T-though sometimes I received complaints from the others that they couldn’t find their room because I tampered with the castle too much.

When I was at LV 1, the castle looked like an ordinary house but now it has transformed into a genuine western style castle with a tower on the east and west side. 

Fufufu~ All of this thanks to the fact that I’ve increased my level as a maou.

Well, it turned out I did have the knack to become a maou, huh!

As I was walking toward the first floor, I heard something.

“Oi, oi, oi! I am the maou!”

“Maou-sama!”

“I want to be the maou next!”

“I don’t want to be the hero anymore! Someone switch with me!”

Seemed like the kobold, werewolf and dryad children were playing pretend as maou and the hero. 

“Oh, you guys are playing with each other, huh?”

“Maou-sama!” 

All of the children jumped at me excitedly.

“Maou-sama, come play with us~”

“Play with us!~”

“Maou-sama, you can become maou-sama and I will become Velke-sama~”

“Eeeh! Not fair!”

“That means you will always be with Maou-sama! Not fair!”

The big ones looked like they were already 5-6 years old physically. 

They were so adorable.

“You guys, have you been practicing magic diligently?”

“We do!~”

“Velke-sama taught us!~”

“Zoe-sama talks a lot but he sucks at teaching!”

“Jill-sama is good at teaching but he rarely speaks!”

Seemed like the three of them had been giving the children magic lessons.

“Okay! Then let’s play!”

After playing until they were satisfied, the children went to take a nap.

“Hey, hey… Maou-sama…”

“Hm? What is it?”

Instead of following the others to the nursery room, the dryad children tugged at my hem.

“Everyone.. They have a father… I’m jealous… I’m the only one that doesn’t have a father…”

“Ah…”

“I… Did my father… He didn’t want to come with Maou-sama..?”

His jade green hair came to my mind.

A pang of sadness went through my heart as I reminded myself of that night.

“You can’t see the moon when the sun comes but the moon is always there even when we can’t see it. Your father is also always watching over you guys even though you can’t meet him.”

I remembered his gentle voice.

“Ah, yes.. He’s very…” I trailed and then I laughed softly.

“Your father gave me the Protection of the Moon. It’s a very strong protection. Every time I look at the moon, I can feel your father’s power inside of me.”

“Wow… Really?’

“Yes.”

Sweet pink blush adorned the dryad’s children’s cheeks as they smiled happily. 

Satisfied with my answer, they went after the other children to take a nap together.

I was basking in the afterglow of happiness when I heard the sound of someone’s crying.

“….Gedo.”

“My apologies, master.”

Gedo, the gladiator wiped his face with his left hand.

“When I saw the master playing with the kids, I realized you’re still at an age where playing is important for your development but instead you have to give birth to a demon child. When I think about it, I feel so..so sorry for you.”

Ah, that’s right. For a demon he actually has a good conscience.

“Well then young master, it’s alright if you also want to take a nap with them.”

No,no no. Ah.. How do I make him understand that I already passed the age where I need to take a nap…

I spread my arms wide before him and prompted him to pick me up wordlessly.

“I want to eat sweet things so please take me to the kitchen.”

As an adult with a soft spot for me, he immediately knew what I meant without me telling him. 

He gently picked me up, put me on his shoulder and carried me to the kitchen. 

After I finished with my afternoon snack, I continued to stroll around the castle again.

I was walking with a smug look on my face when someone called out to me.

“Maou-sama.”

Well of course it’s because I meet you, Vii.

Vii, the vampire had claimed a room in maou castle as his own. 

No, not just ‘a’ room.. This guy claimed two rooms!

“I need a little bit of your help, Maou-sama.”

And so I warily headed to his room.

…….Which I immediately regret.

T-the fuck is this?!

Vii’s room was filled with nothing but clothes after clothes!

And.. Somehow all of the clothes were suspiciously my size.

“I want you to wear this cheongsam dress.”

Is he stupid? He’s definitely stupid!

From maid uniform, military uniform even to naked aprons.

There were all sorts of costumes in his room!

“Eeeh~ I want to have cheongsam rape play. Don’t you think it’s a good idea?”

 I quickly ran away from the cosplay room.

I didn’t know what he would do had I stayed there any longer.

I decided to go toward the east tower after that.

Usually I would have met Velke by now but today I haven’t seen him even once.

Velke looked a little haggard today. 

I wonder what happened to him….
